Despite a tremendous Christmas rush, there are still thousands of gamers on the hunt for their PS5 in 2022. The next-gen console is still incredibly rare to come by, even after restocks went into overdrive last week.
Almost every major retailer has been dropping stock over the holidays, but high demand means that it’s still impossible for everyone to get the console they’re after. Thankfully, as the Christmas rush comes to an end, we still have new drops arriving to help out.
This week we finally got news about the God of War Ragnarok release date too!
And there’s big news for those who love Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2!
Although it’s a late Christmas gift, here’s everything we know about the PS5 restock wave running from January 3-9!

All PS5 Restocks – January 3-9
Target PS5 Restock
Target PS5 Restock Date: January 5-7 (Rumored)
Our last major PS5 restock at Target took place on December 16 and it was a huge success for buyers. However, the retailer isn’t done with its stock just yet.
In fact, insider Jake Randall reports that many Target stores are receiving 50-100 PS5 consoles over the weekend. And that means that a massive PS5 restock is very likely coming this week.
We’re expecting the PS5 drop between Wednesday-Friday between 6 AM-9 AM EST. After all, when Randall says there’s a Target drop coming, we’d be a fool to doubt it.

GameStop PS5 Restock
Sony
GameStop PS5 Restock Date: January 5-6 (Rumored)
Over the last few weeks, GameStop has been our number one spot when it comes to finding a next-gen console. The retailer has been gradually switching its sales to in-store drops, allowing gamers to purchase a PS5 in person, rather than battling scalpers online.
We’ve had in-store PS5 drops at GameStop for the last 3 weeks, and we’re hoping that the trend continues. If so, expect these GameStop stores to have stock in the next physical drop.

Walmart PS5 Restock
Walmart PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)
It’s been a couple of weeks since our last Walmart PS5 restock, and the most recent drop wasn’t exactly a huge success. In fact, many gamers reported their PS5 orders getting canceled from Walmart after the December drop.
On top of that, several reports from buyers indicate that Walmart PS5 orders are stationary for weeks before finally shipping.
This is likely due to Walmart selling consoles it doesn’t have at the time, and then filling orders as stock comes in. Now that orders are finally being fulfilled, we expect Walmart to drop PS5 consoles again soon.
But it’ll be a while before buyers actually receive them…

PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock
PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)
In the lead-up to Christmas, Sony was trying its best to ensure that everyone had a chance at a PS5 restock. In one final effort to sell consoles, the publisher allowed users to sign up for a PS5 restock personally.
In the weeks leading up to December 25, PlayStation Direct offered 3 separate PS5 drops before going radio silence for the holidays.
Now, we’re anticipating that Sony will be resuming its regular restock patterns very soon.

Antonline PS5 Restock
Antonline PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)
Over the last few days we’ve seen Antonline drop both next-gen consoles several times over. As a smaller online-only retailer, the store isn’t always able to keep up with major chains but that certainly wasn’t the case last week.
It could be that Antonline is making a big push to fully exhaust its stock before the New Year. Or perhaps after a year of excellent restocks, the site is finally getting more dedicated stock in 2022?
Put notifications on for Antonline’s Twitter and you’ll never miss a drop. However, expect to pay more for your PS5 through this site, as it exclusively sells the console in bundle-form.
Best Buy PS5 Restock
Best Buy PS5 Restock Date: Unlikely This Week
Recently, we saw Best Buy restock PS5 consoles in-store over December. On top of that, the retailer had a major next-gen drop on December 27 for PlayStation fans.
We expect that the store has sold through its stock for now, but anticipate that more consoles will be coming soon.
If Best Buy goes live this week, we expect that TotalTech members will be getting another exclusive next-gen drop. However, after seeing the ridiculous price for a membership, we doubt many gamers will be signing up for the restock.

Amazon PS5 Restock
Amazon PS5 Restock Date: Possible This Week
There’s never an easy way to guess when Amazon is going to drop its stock, but we managed to accurately predict its most recent restock. Unfortunately for console hunters, Amazon’s most recent PS5 restocks were ruined by scalper bots.
For those that did nab the console, it appears that Amazon is shipping PS5 consoles early though. If there’s any leftover stock, it’s not impossible that the online store could go live again in the new year.
However, it’s also likely that Amazon will return to its regular drop pattern, meaning that end of January could be our best bet.
