Skyview Cabinet USA Inc. contests a ruling that its imports of wooden cabinets and vanities evaded U.S. trade remedy duties on Chinese goods, arguing to a federal trade court that customs officials failed to verify its supporting documentation.
The U.S. in 2020 began imposing antidumping and countervailing duties on imports from China of wooden cabinets and vanities and their components. MasterBrand Cabinets Inc. accused Skyview of evading the duties by transshipping Chinese merchandise through Malaysia. U.S. Customs and Border Protection investigated and issued an affirmative finding of evasion.
