Tropical Storm Fred threatens Alabama Gulf Coast, Florida Panhandle
[LAUGHS] BURT REYNOLDS, THAT IS. LET’S TALK ABOUT FRED. THE CONE IS IN CENTRAL ALABAMA. THE TIMELINES I IMPORTANT. MONDAY, 24 HOURS FROM NOW, ALL EYES OF COURSE ON THE GULF, SO LET’S TALK ABO THEUT IMPACT. THIS IS WHERE IT IS ALL GOING TO BEGIN. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A HOLDOUT OF HEAT WE WILL CRANKUT O SOME THUNDER SHOWERS, 4:00 IN THE AFTERNOON. IT WILL BE SCATTERED, NOT VERY ORGANIZED,UT B THERE IS A STALLED FRONT TO OUR NORTH, AND I DO THINK THAT WILL BE A COAST — FOCAL POINT FOR SOME SHOWERS AND MAYBE EVEN THUNDERSHOWERS. AFTER THAT, 10:00 P.M. TONIGHT, DON’T BE SURPRISED IF YOU WAKE UP ON MOAYND MORNING, AND YOU VEHA GOT YOURSELF A GOOD RAIN SOAKER THROUGH ABOUT, I WOULD SAY, 4:00, FIVE UP IN THE MORNING. BUT THEN ALL — 5:00 IN THE MORNING. BUT THEN ALL EYES BECOME FRIGHTENED. LOOKING AT THIS ANIMATION– FRED. LOOKING AT THIS ANIMAONTI COME A LOOK LEIK EARLY MONDAY AFTERNOON, EARLY MONDAY EVENING, BUT THIS ENTIRE — CHECK THIS OUT. THIS IS SOME OF THE RAIN MOVING TOIN DOCTEN ROUGHLY AROUND 10:00 A.M., BUT THE RAIN BANDS STILL EXTEND INTO TAMPA, FLORIDA AND FORT MYERS, SO WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A PRETTY BROAD WEATHER SYEMST HERE. MACON, SAVANNAH WELL AHEAD OF THE CENTER OF CIRCULATION. EVENF O THE EYELLWA WILL BE MAKING LANDFALL ALONG THE GULF COAST, RAIN WILL ALREADY BE INCENTRAL ALABAMA AND IN CENTRAL GEORGIA. BUT WITH EACH FORECAST MODEL RUN, WE CONTINUE TO SEE EAST ALABAMA SEEING A WLEHO LOT MORE THIS — PRATTVILLE, AREAS OF MONTGOMERY, WATCH OUT FOR THE TORNADO THREAT, TOO. ANYBYOD WITH ANY INTERT,ES STUDENTS, TROY UNIVERSYIT, MOVING INTO AREAOFS COLUMBUS, GEORGIA AND FORT BENNING, THE ACTUAL OUTLOOK FOR SEVERE WEATHER, THESE IMPACTS ARE DIRECTLY FROM FRED. SO EVEN THOUGH IT IS ON THE LOW END OF THIS TL,AI THEY ARE GOING TO CHANGE THIS, UPDATE IT. EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE UPDATED A LOT MORE FREQUENTLY AS THIS WEATHER SYSTEM MAKES LANDFALL. SOLD THE BULK OF THE RAIN BEING ONHE T EAST SIDE OF THE STORM, WE HAVE ALSO GOT GRACE TO TALK ABOUT IT WE CANNOT RULE OUT WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH GRACE, BECAUSE I THINK GRACE IS GOING TO BE AIG B RAINMAKER FOR AREAS ALONG THE GULF COAST BELIEVE IT OR NOT, WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME WEATHER BEHIND FRED THAT STARTS TO PUSH EVERYTHING MORE TOWARD THE EAST. SO LOOK AT THIS CONE OF UNCERTAINTY HERE. IT IS QUITE VAST. THE CONE ALMOST ENCOMPASSES THE ENTIRE GULOF MEXICO, AND THAT LAST ANIMATION IS 1:00 IN THE MORNING ON FRIDAY MORNING, SO THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING. SO I TNKHI THE LIKELIHDOO OF THIS BEING ACCURATE, WHERE THE EYEWALL COULD GET ANYWHERE FROM FLORIDA TO CANCUN, I THINK THERE STILL IS A WHOLE LOT MORE DAYS AHILL IS A WHOLE LOT MORE DAYS EAD UNTIL WE CAN N
